Insulation Material Calculation for Vessel

Problem:
A Vessel having diameter is 860mm & length 3700mm. Insulation thickness is 75mm. Calculated Insulation area.

Solution:
Vessel Diameter (OD) = 0.86m
Vessel Length (L) = 3.7m
Insulation Thickness (Th) = 0.075m

Insulation Area for Vessel = ((Pie () x (OD + 2 x Th) x L) + ((Pie () x OD^2 x 2)/4) x S.F)

( We use multiply 2 in ((Pie () x OD^2 x 2)/4) because it's Top & Bottom area)

Putting all Value in above formula:

        = ((Pie () x (0.86 + 2 x 0.075) x 3.7) + ((Pie () x (0.86)^2 x 2)/4) x 1.2)

We have considered 20% Safety Factor.

        = 11.7 + 1.4

        = 13.1 Sq. M
